PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonlinear video editor by which nonlinear video editing software processing can be executed without the occurrence of deviated sound recording even when the sampling rate of audio data from a digital video DV camera is more or less deviated. SOLUTION: A data capture program 26s conducts processing shown below. Every sample number for a period equivalent to one video frame from individual data of separated audio data is counted and accumulated. When the count by a prescribed number of frames is finished, whether or not an error is within a permissible range is discriminated. When the error exceeds the permissible range, sampling rate conversion is processed. Concretely, audio data are arranged in time sequence to calculate an imaginary straight line L1 interconnecting the samples. This imaginary straight line L1 is sampled again according to a standard value. Sound editing without the occurrence of deviated sound recording can be attained by adjusting the error in the sampling rate at capturing the audio data.
