Disclosed is a method of producing a synthetic resin film for laminates. The method comprises impregnating a substrate with a thermosetting resin composition comprising an uncured thermosetting resin and a low profile additive and drying and, optionally partially curing the impregnated substrate. The low profile additive is typically inert spherical particles o r powder. The method of the present invention produces synthetic resin film having improved scratch resistance.
