The invention relates to a strip for producing a ring-shaped element in an electric motor by deforming an essentially longitudinally extended strip. Said strip has an electromagnetic active area that is directed in a perpendicular position to an axis of rotation of the ring-shaped element. The strip is extended in an essentially longitudinal manner and consists of separated segments that form the active surface of the element. Adjacent segments are respectively connected by means of a link that is formed on the outer side of the element. The link is formed in such a way that it is possible to accommodate an elastic deformation when the strip is bent. The segments remain essentially free from elastic deformation.
