The present invention relates to a method of tracking, on the basis of images of deformable elements, and/or images with highly noisy contours. The method of the invention makes it possible easily to extract (1) from each image very fine closed contours of the objects, to perform recognition of these objects from one image to the other with the aid of the perimeter and of the centre of gravity of each contour (3, 4), and to deduce their speeds (5) therefrom. The invention is particularly beneficial for tracking meteorological disturbances, which are slowly-deformable objects which can be likened to non-deformable objects for processing. <IMAGE> |
