The ink jet printer has a nozzle plate (1) and is mounted on the printer carriage . The nozzles are mounted in a line and issue a series pulses of ink. In order to protect the nozzles against paper dust, foreign particles etc the head is fitted with a thin masking frame (4) that is bonded in position.
