The endoscope has a coupling device (20) for connection to a video camera, whereby the endoscope has a distal end of its needle-shaped tube for ingress into the body with a lens system and a proximal end for viewing into the endoscope with a field of view stop, to which the coupling device is attached. The proximal end of the tube has a lens system mounted after the stop that is externally fully sealed and not adjustable, as is the lens system on the distal end (4). The coupling device has no lens and can be adjusted in axial length like a telescope.
