PURPOSE: A traffic adjustment method of an STP(Signalling Transfer Pointer) exchange is provided to carry out traffic adjustment using a TFP(TransFer Prohibit) message format, in case that an STP receives a signal message related to a call proceeding to an undefined exchange. CONSTITUTION: An MTP(Message Transfer Part)(A) transmits a first signal message related to a call to an MTP(B) through a transmission line(a), and the MTP(B) analyzes the first signal message(200). The MTP(B) transmits the first signal message to an MTP(C) through a transmission line(c) as, in the second signal message formats, a DPC(Destination Point Code) field is a direction to the MTP(C) and an OPC(Origination Point Code) field is a direction to the MTP(A)(201). The MTP(A) transmits a second signal message to the MTP(B), and the MTP(B) analyzes the second signal message(202). The MTP(B) abandons the second signal message as, in the second signal message formats, the DPC field is a direction to the MTP(D) and the OPC field is a direction to the MTP(A)(203).
