PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a combustor by reducing the space of a combustion section by increasing the quantitative proportion of secondary air when the combustion amount is large. SOLUTION: A combustor is provided with a primary-air pump 4 and a secondary-air pump 10 which are independently controllable by means of a control means 13 and the quantitative proportion of secondary air is made larger than that of primary air when the combustion amount is large as compared with the case where the combustion amount is small. Therefore, the size of a primary flame which requires a forming space can be reduced even when the combustion amount is large. In addition, the size of a combustion pipe 2 can be reduced, because the secondary combustion of gasified fuel can take place even in a relatively small space.
