PURPOSE: A method for periodically performing a PVC(Semi-permanent Virtual Connection) set in an ATM switch is provided to conveniently set the PVC by automatically activating and inactivating the corresponding connection in the switch once setting PVC reserved mode connection. CONSTITUTION: If reached at reserved time set by a reserved mode PVC setting command, a connection of a origin CCCP(Call and Connection Control Processor) and a term CCCP processor is set for maintaining an activation state capable of transmitting a cell. If reserved time is terminated, whether the reserved mode is periodically set, is determined. If periodically set, the next reserved time is counted by performing predetermined procedure according to the input condition, and transited to the connection preparation step at the state of setting the connection condition. If reached the next time, the connection preparation state is transited to the activated state for automatically resetting the PVC.
