PURPOSE: A transmitter/receiver for television broadcasting signal and a method for transmitting/receiving television broadcasting signal are provided to enable user to select a character of his desire in order to watch the program in which the character appears. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter/receiver for television broadcasting signal includes a first generator(103), a first transmitter(104), a second generator(101), a second transmitter(102), and a transmission device(111). The first generator(103) generates background images. The first transmitter(104) converts the background images to a first transmission signal. The second generator(101) generates motion information for objects moving on the image. The second transmitter(102) converts the motion information to a second transmission signal. The transmission device(111) transmits the first and second transmission signals.
