PURPOSE: An interface apparatus of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) communication terminal is to extract a function required to ATM terminals in common and to provide an integrated service to an ATM communication terminal, according to the character of the service. CONSTITUTION: A physical layer connection part(3100) extracts physical layer information from ATM cells transmitted and received, matched with an external ATM network. A physical layer framer/deframer(3200) extracts ATM cells from a frame supplied through the physical layer connection part(3100) and transmits them to a SAR(Segmentation And Reassembly) processing part(3300). The SAR processing part(3300) extracts available ATM cells out of ATM cells supplied through preprocessing and supplies them to a control processing part(3400). The control processing part(3400) processes the data provided from a user plane, composed of an IP processing module, a H.310 service processing module, a H.321 service processing module and a VOD service processing module, so as to be interfaced with the SAR processing part(3300).
