PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of micro drops floating as mist during flushing operation effectively by setting the conditions of ejecting an ink drop from the nozzle opening of a recording head such that only a main ink drop is ejected. SOLUTION: A print control means 30 delivers a bit map data generated based on the print data of a host computer to a head drive means 31 to generate a print drive signal which is delivered to each piezoelectric element in a head 5 and ink is ejected therefrom. Based on a signal from a flushing control means 32 generated independently, the drive means 31 delivers a flushing drive signal and sets conditions for not generating micro drops from the head 5 by controlling the combination of the frequency, rising gradient, level and falling gradient of the drive signal. A cleaning control means 33 drives a suction pump 11 in response to a command from the control means 30 and/or a cleaning command detecting means 35. |
