PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a descaling device not causing buckling, impressing and scratching at the time of descaling an extremely thin metallic strip in an alkali molten salt bath. SOLUTION: A descaling device having an alkali molten salt bath 1 is provided with a steering roller 5 for introducing a metallic strip 4 into a molten salt tank 2 and controlling the approach angle to the molten salt bath 1 in the alkali molten salt tank 2 in the width direction of the strip, a heater for heating the strip before being introduced into the tank, a guide roller 6 on the outlet side for conducting the strip outside the tank, a hot air blowing device 9 to control the thickness of the molten salt on the lower face of the strip before being passed through the guide roller, and a holder roller 8 contg. a heating means, set in parallel with the guide roller 8, preventing the meandering of the strip and wiping off the molten salt.
