PURPOSE: A method for testing subscriber path of total electronic switchboard is provided to accurately and concretely confirm the status of the corresponding subscriber path by hearing the transmitted dial tone to a test equipment. CONSTITUTION: The assigned number for testing path is dialed by a testing equipment(lineman), the test equipment control is determined whether in the testable state. If in the testable state, the dial tone is transmitted to the test equipment. If the hook on of the test equipment is detected, the test equipment performs one test of several items to the connected subscriber path(S309). If the test to the corresponding item is completed within a predetermined time(S310), a ring is transmitted to the test equipment(S311). If the hook off of the testing equipment is detected, the tested value to the corresponding item belongs to either a predetermined normal area or at least one or more abnormal area, is determined. The dial tone assigned to the area to which the tested value belongs, is transmitted to the test equipment for reporting the test result(S315).
