PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce highly deionized water with a small equipment efficiently at a low cost. SOLUTION: In this device, in cationic column 1 and an anionic column 5 by which the insides are partitioned with a partitioning plate permitting passing of water and a regenerant but not permitting passing of ion exchange resin into the upper and lower rooms, weak acidic cation ion exchange resin is filled into the upper part room of the cationic column 1 by being left a space, and strong acidic cationic ion exchange resin is fully filled into the lower part room in a state swollen the strong acidic cationic ion exchange resin. Water to be treated is passed through the cationic column 1 with a descending flow, and also the regenerant is through with an ascending flow. In the anionic column 5, the strong basic anionic ion exchange resin is fully filled into the upper part room and the weak anionic exchange resin is fully filled into the lower part room, respectively in a swollen state. The water to be treated is passed through the anionic column 5 with an ascending flow and also the regenerant is worked with a descending flow. |
