PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase variation in design of a shoe sole by utilizing a shank. SOLUTION: In this structure of a shoe sole, a shock absorbing section made of foam resin and for absorbing shock is provided from a front sole part 10 to a rear sole part 11, and a vartically penetrating through hole 13 is provided between the inside and the outside of a foot in a middle foot part 12 of the shock absorbing section. Thereon, a shank 2 is secured to the upper face of the shock absorbing section so as to block the through hole 13, thereby enabling to visually recognize the shank 2 from the side of the ground contact face via the through hole 13.
