PURPOSE: A socket for a pin lattice arrangement package is provided to manufacture an electrical mounted on a circuit member and accommodating pin lattice arrangement with zero insertion force. CONSTITUTION: A socket for a pin lattice arrangement package includes a base housing(51), a plane cover(52), a plurality of conductive terminal(57), and an operation structure(51a,52a). The base housing(51) includes a plurality of holes for terminal accommodation arranged in a predetermined order. The plane cover(52) is movable between a first insertion position and a second combining position with respect to the base housing(51), and includes an upper and lower surfaces and a dielectric member. The first and second hole array are arranged so as to form a plurality of penetrating holes. The plurality of conductive terminal(57) are mounted on the holes for terminal accommodation. The operation structure(51a,52a) glides the plane cover(52) between the first insertion position and the second combining position with respect to the base housing(51).
