PURPOSE: An embedded MCU with data size variability is disclosed to provide convenience to consumers and to cut manufacturer's test time into half by designing a structure which enables the expansion of fixed data size in MCU's interior while interfacing with internal memory and external ROM writers. CONSTITUTION: An embedded MCU with data size variability is composed of identification, distinction, transmission, and conversion. A CPU(10) controls the operation of input/output data through an input/output port and a peripheral department(20) possesses interrupt and watchdog ability. The embedded MCU, composed of an internal memory(30), includes a data size detector(100), a mode detector(200), a write controller(400), an address converter(300), and a read dumping department(600). The data size detector identifies the size of the data that interfaces with external devices. the mode detector distinguishes the read mode and the write mode during the internal memory's(30) program or a test. The write controller writes data received through the address converter in the write mode to the internal memory. The read controller reads the internal memory's data in the read mode and outputs the data through the address converter. The address converter converts the data inputted and output by the data size detector and the mode detector through input/output port(40). The read dumping department changes data read speed during memory test to find the maximum speed.
