PURPOSE: An apparatus for storing/playback caption information of caption televisions and a method thereof are provided to store caption information displayed on a screen. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for storing/playback caption information of caption televisions includes a caption information storage(22), a backup battery(23) and a micro computer(21). The caption information storage(22) classifies and stores the caption information. The backup battery(23) supplies power to preserve the information in the caption information storage. The micro computer(21) stores the caption information in the caption information storage or reads the caption information from the caption information storage to display on a screen according to the user command.
