PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas compressor capable of exhausting the compressed gas smoothly, being operated with less power, having a high durability, and emitting less noise. SOLUTION: A gas compressor is composed of a cylinder block 13 having a hollow for formation of a compression chamber and a valve mounting part 22c formed by notching the outer circumferential wall and discharge holes 22p and 22q, a discharge valve 27 consisting of a stationary part fixed to the valve mounting part 22c and a branch part 27a covering the discharge holes 22p and 22q in such a way that they can be opened and closed, a rear side block 15 having a passage 15b for the gas spouted from the holes 22p and 22q, and ribs 22d formed in the valve mounting part 22c between the holes 22p and 22q and gas passage 15b, wherein the range with formation of ribs 22d is located on the side nearer the valve branch part than the stationary end part of the discharge valve 27.
