PURPOSE: An interlock device using locks is provided to prevent manual actuation of a switch having a handle inlet and to allow the switch to be actuated manually in a certain sequence of operations determined by using keys for the locks. CONSTITUTION: An interlock device includes a first lock (S3, S5, S7), a second lock (S2, S4, S6) and a set of cams (31, 32). The two locks (S3, S5, S7; S2, S4, S6) are operable by means of at least one key capable of being withdrawn from the corresponding lock or of being engaged in the lock only when the lock is in its locked position. Rotation of the cams (31, 32) is tied to actuation of a switch (SKG, MALT1, MALT2). The cams (31, 32) act on the bolts of the locks to prevent the first lock from being operated so long as the second switch is not in its second switching position and to prevent the second lock from being operated by its key as soon as the second switch no longer occupies its first switching position. The two locks are disposed in a manner that their respective bolts close a handle inlet of the switch in the advanced position. When the switch is in its first switching position, the bolt of the first lock is in its retracted position and the blot of the second lock is in its advanced position.
