PURPOSE: A method and device for re-accelerating a vehicle equipped with a high-pressure compressor is provided to effectively store and use an extra torque and an extra power. CONSTITUTION: A method and device for re-accelerating a vehicle equipped with a high-pressure compressor contains the following characteristics: a on-board compressor (25) is operated during decelerating and/or braking phases and the high-pressure compressed air flow is derived and stored in a re-accelerating reservoir (35), thermally insulated and maintained at very high pressure and very high temperature, to be used when the vehicle is put back in driving phase by being injected at high temperature and at high pressure in the combustion or expansion chamber of the engine (2).
