<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage, and a printer employing it, in which the possibility that a pressure developing head or roller deviates from the end of a sheet in the scanning direction is low even when the sheet is used as a print region up to the vicinity of end thereof in the scanning direction in order to minimize the margin of the sheet in the scanning direction. SOLUTION: Carriage 70 of a printer scans a photosensitive/pressure sensitive print sheet 1 in the direction X intersecting the carrying direction Z of sheet and supports a pressure developing head 50 relatively movably in the scanning direction X within a range of specified length equal to or longer than the length 2d of a power source group 31A when the scanning direction X1, X2 of the carriage 70 is inverted. Typically, elongated holes 73, 74 being fitted idly and movably, in the scanning direction X within the range of specified length, with a bearing 54 for supporting a cylindrical pressure developing roller body 51, rolling in the scanning direction X on the sheet 1 when the carriage 70 is moved in the scanning direction X, around the central shafts 52, 53 thereof are made in wall parts 71, 72.</p> |
