<p>An IC (5) for driving a printer is formed nearly in a rectangular shape in its plan view and it has a first long side (5a) located toward recording elements of the printer and a second long side (5b) opposite the first long side. On the IC (5) are arranged a plurality of output pads (11), a drive unit (14) containing a drive circuit connected to the output pads (11) to drive the recording elements, and a signal processing unit (15) that includes a logic circuit unit containing a logic circuit to control the drive unit (14) by processing the input signals, these units being arranged nearly in parallel with the first long side (5a) and in the order mentioned from the first long side (5a) toward the second long side (5b). The IC (5) comprises a plurality of signal pads (12) connected to the signal processing unit (15) to input the signals and a plurality of power source pads (13) connected to the signal processing unit (15) and to the drive unit (14) to input the power source, and these pads are arranged on the signal processing unit (15) closer to the first long side (5a) than the logic circuit unit. <IMAGE></p> |
