A vehicle for the collection, compacting and unloading of source-separated recyclables. The trailer box of the vehicle is longitudinally divided into three internal compartments, each of which has a compacting packer blade which is also utilized to unload the collected recyclables from the vehicle. Loading is accomplished by lifting and inverting a recyclables collection bin, having three internal compartments similar to the trailer box internal compartments, over the hopper portions of the trailer box internal compartments. Separated recyclables are guided during dumping by hinged bin lids which facilitate communication between the internal compartments of the bin and trailer box. Alternatively, an open-front adapter bin capable of containing recyclables tote containers may be used in the place the above-described recyclables collection bin. The collected recyclables are vertically compacted by a movable hopper top cover and horizontally compacted by the packer blades. Unloading is accomplished in one trailer box internal compartment independently of the others by fully moving the packer blade contained therein the length of that internal compartment while simultaneously opening one of three upwardly lifting rear unloading doors.
