The process is for repair of a leaking vertical drainpipe (2,3) within a building structure such as a block of flats or offices. The pipe is fitted with a textile-strengthened hose lining (5) the diameter of which is slightly less than that of the pipe. The outer surface of the hose has a coating consisting of a bonding agent and one end of the hose is open. The hose is inserted into the pipe and the open end is then connected to a source of compressed air, expanding the hose lining which then bonds to the inner surface of the pipe.
