PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flower-thinning agent for apple tree which inhibits phytotoxicity without giving adverse effects on environments, enables to be simply and safely handled and exerts a stable flower-thinning effect with slight irregularity even in the difference of regions, weather or the like by including an aliphatic organic acid, its ester or its metal salt as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The flower-thinning agent for apple tree is obtained by including an aliphatic organic acid (e.g. formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, valerianic acid, capronic acid, caprylic acid, oxalic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid or the like), its ester or its metal salt (e.g. sodium salt, potassium salt, calcium salt or the like) as an active ingredient. Further, it is favorable that the concentration in the case of spraying the above active ingredient to apple farms is 0.025-5 wt.% and the pH of the above diluted active ingredient is 5.0-8.5.
