PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the lower end of a bent part from coming in contact with a vehicle to assist a wing type roof to open/close smoothly when opening/closing it in a vehicle with the bendable wing type roof. SOLUTION: This opening/closing auxiliary device 20 is provided to smoothly open/close a side wall lower part 7 in a vehicle having a wing type roof with a pivotally fixed roof of L-shaped cross section comprising a roof part 5 and a side wall part composed of a side wall upper part 6 continuous with the roof part 5, and the side wall lower part 7 connected to the side wall upper part 6 by a connecting pin so as to be bendable inward. The opening/closing auxiliary device 20 has a first bar 21 with the tip fixed to the end face lower part of the side wall lower part 7 by a first pin 25 so as to be almost rotatable within a vertical plane to a pivot, a second bar 22 with the tip connected to the rear end of the first bar 21 by a second pin 23 and with the rear end fitted to the upper part of a frame part by a third pin so as to be almost rotatable within the plane, and a stopper 30 for limiting the rotation of the first bar 21 to the second bar 22.
