PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold securely a stick-shaped cosmetic and protect the cosmetic from breakage by notching a recessed channel on the inwall of a holding cylinder and making the cross sectional area of the cosmetic in this part larger than the cross sectional area of the inside diameter of the holding cylinder in a holding cylinder to hold a cosmetic formed by filling with a cosmetic. SOLUTION: In a container 42 where a holding cylinder 2 can be used, the holding cylinder 2 can slides up and down from a delivery mechanism 46, a filling nozzle C enters and a through hole 41 for filling a cosmetic is provided in a filling mold 48. In the holding cylinder 2 here, a recessed groove 37 into which a melted cosmetic can enter is provided in the inwall thereof. A stick- shaped cosmetic 1 such as a lipstick is held in a manner that prevents it form rotating and from coming off in the holding cylinder 2 by a cosmetic entering the groove 37. Therefore, as no projection is provided in the inwall of the holding cylinder 2, the filling nozzle C can be inserted into the interior of the holding cylinder 2 without trouble. As the stick-shaped cosmetic 1 has no part where the transverse cross section decreases there is no part where stress concentrates, and the stick-shaped cosmetic can be prevented from breaking.
