PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reforming method of elevator which can make the continuous stopping time in a normal operation within two days, and cam make the total days of the field work necessary for reforming within three days. SOLUTION: A prior working process including the boring work on a machine room floor 23, a new product carrying-in work, and a construction work of a new tail cord and a cable for up and down limit switch, is carried out, and after this prior working process is finished, an elevator is made to carry out a normal operation of the necessary days, and then, a low speed operation main work to remove and provide newly the apparatus in an elevator shaft 1 while operating a car 6 in a low speed is carried out. After this low speed operation main work process is finished, an operation stopping main work to carry out the reforming work of the car 6 and the reforming work of a machine room 2 in parallel, in the condition fixing the car 6 at the lowermost floor, is carried out, and after this operation stopping main work process is finished, a regulation and inspection operation main work including a regulation and inspection work to carry out the regulation and the inspection of the up and down limit switches 11 and 12, and the like, while operating the car 6 at a low speed; and a trial run work; is carried out.
