PURPOSE: An oil pressure switch is provided to prevent mis-operation and defective operation of a switch by restraining inflow of water into a switch and to lengthen the life span of the switch by preventing corrosion of a contact point, a lead wire and a terminal of the switch. CONSTITUTION: A rubber flange(20) is installed in the middle of a pressure switch(10), and a spring(30) and a contact plate(40) are installed inside the pressure switch. A terminal(50) is fixed behind the spring and the contact plate via a screw(60). The terminal is connected with a lead wire(80) extended from a lamp(70) to light on/off the lamp depending on operation of the pressure switch. A waterproof cap(90) is prepared to close a specific space at the rear face of the pressure switch including the terminal. The internal space formed by the waterproof cap and the pressure switch are communicated with each other via an air vent(10a). If oil pressure rises during engine ignition, the rubber flange is pushed back and a contact point of the switch is turned on. Then, a signal is applied to the lamp via the terminal and the lead wire and the lamp is lighted for specific time period and lighted off. According to closed structure of the pressure switch, invasion of water is restrained during washing or passing through a waterway. Therefore, mis-operation or defective-operation of the switch is prevented. Further, corrosion of the contact point, the terminal, the screw and the lead wire is avoided.
