PURPOSE: A tester is provided to be able to precisely measure the amounts of loaded rotation of wire ropes. CONSTITUTION: A tester comprises a wire rope receiving portion(17) which rotates freely, a bushing housing(20), two bearings(21, 22), a sensor(18) for detecting a rotational angle of the wire rope receiving portion(17), and a display(15). The wire rope receiving portion(17) is tightly engaged with a zinc socket(19) which a wire rope(R) to be tested is connected at its end, and is rotated together with the wire rope(R). The housing(20) is disposed outside of the receiving portion(17) and is fixed by a fixably supporting holder(14). The two bearings(21, 22) are interposed between the receiving portion(17) and the housing(20) such that the receiving portion(17) can be rotated with respect to the housing(20). The sensor(18) for detecting the rotational angle of the receiving portion(17) is mounted to the housing(20). The display(15) is constructed such that an output of the sensor(18) is indicated as loaded rotation amount of the wire rope with respect to a tensile load of the wire rope.
