PURPOSE: A demapping apparatus is provided to perform a soft decision to a received data in a case where a distance between adjacent constellations of two quadrants is different from a constellation rate in each quadrant. CONSTITUTION: A demapping apparatus comprises a region detecting part(501), a control interface(502), a quantizer(503), and a multiplication part(504). The region detecting part(501) divides actual and imaginary regions according to each bit of an actual axis and of an imaginary axis of data from an equalizer. The multiplication part(504) multiplies a region division value of the region detecting part(501) and channel state information to a QAM symbol. The quantizer(503) quantizes an output of the multiplication part(504). The control interface(502) determines a bit number to be quantized according to a register value to control the quantizer(503).
