PURPOSE: A character input method in a mobile terminal is provided to make a user input characters using a few keys. CONSTITUTION: When a user selects character input mode, priorities are decided according to frequencies of characters allotted to each key. When a character key is input, characters are displayed in order by priorities of characters allotted to the input keys according to the key push number of the character key. And the terminal checks whether the data, which select the displayed character, are input or not. When the selected data are input, the displayed character is stored.
