PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a camera of a video conference system is provided to control a direction of a camera toward the parties concerned of a conference. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a camera of a video conference system comprises a microphone mixer(10), a camera control portion(20), an audio amplification portion(30), a camera portion(50), a video amplification portion(60), a camera rotation portion, and a transmission portion(80). The microphone mixer receives audio signals from a plurality of microphone and mixes the received audio signals. The camera control portion outputs a camera control signal for rotating a camera and controlling a zoom lens of a camera. The audio amplification portion amplifies and processes the mixed signals. The camera portion performs a zoom function according to the control signal. The video amplification portion amplifies and processes a video signal from the camera portion. The camera rotation portion controls rotation of the camera. The transmission portion transmits the video signal and the audio signal.
