PURPOSE: A high oxidative resistant unburned magnesia-carbon brick is provided, which is used in various furnace such as converter, electric furnace, second refining furnace and the like, to give specific bricks having higher resistance to oxidation than those of any conventional bricks. CONSTITUTION: A specified brick is characterized in that it is comprised of a magnesia refractory, a black lead and a non-crystalline magnesium-boron type composite. In particulars, the brick is first comprised of 75 to 95% by weight of a magnesia refractory, 5 to 25% by weight of a black lead and the remainder being the non-crystalline magnesium-boron type composite. The remaining composite is also comprised of 0.2 to 3% by weight, based on a total weight other than the remaining composite. In addition, the remaining composite is characterized by Mg-B type non-crystalline composite being comprised of 20 to 25 wt% of magnesium(Mg) and 75 to 80 wt% of boron(B).
