CALL ACCESSING METHOD USING IP ADDRESS

PURPOSE: A call connection device using fixed preassigned IP(Internet Protocol) address of settop box of multimedia satellite communication system is provided to reduce delay time of IP address assignment after Internet connection by storing fixed preassigned IP address. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia satellite communication system has a district center, which connects with Internet physically, and a station, which connects with communication terminals physically. The station is composed of following units. A receive data processing unit recovers data received from the district center. An interface card connects the station with communication terminals. An IP address storage unit stores assigned IP address. A transmission data process unit modulates data, which will be transmitted to the district center. A station processor generates control message including IP address in accordance with call connection request supplied through the interface card. The station processor controls call requests to the district center in accordance with the generated control message. A station control unit generates control message including IP address when data requesting Internet connection is received from communication terminal. The district center is composed of following units. A router executes connection process with Internet. A transmission data process unit processes data, which will be transmitted to the station. A receive process unit processes signals received from the station. A database stores information about subscribers. An IP address assignment unit manages certain amount of IP addresses. A central control unit controls call connection between Internet and the station in base of call connection request from station.
