PURPOSE: A method for processing a point-to-point permanent virtual connection(PVC) is provided to easily debug errors generated while processing the PVC, and to reduce internal signals by generating a child process processing point-to-point PVC information in transmitting/receiving one ends only, and to improve a processing speed by setting up/reserving/changing/deleting the PVC information in one relay of a database. CONSTITUTION: A remote switching subsystem(RSS) has a library block, a database, an outgoing/incoming subscriber board. A method for setting up a point-to-point permanent virtual connection(PVC) fixed mode connection in the RSS, comprises the steps of: responding to an outgoing/incoming command for setting up the point-to-point PVC fixed mode connection, and generating a child process for setting up the point-to-point PVC fixed mode connection; requesting information for setting up the connection from the library block; generating a relation recording the connection information in the database; controlling the outgoing/incoming subscriber board, and setting up the connection according to the recorded connection information; and completing the child process after completing the connection setting up step.
