PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating ozone for a refrigerator is provided to control an amount of generated ozone by controlling a period of applying or shutting off a corona initializing voltage with relation to discharge and earth electrodes. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for generating ozone for a refrigerator(100) includes a high voltage circuit part(110) for generating a high voltage by raising or multiplying an input voltage, a discharge electrode(120) in the shape of needle to be applied with a cathode voltage of the high voltage, and an earth electrode(130) in the shape of grid being separated from the discharge electrode with a predetermined distance and applied with an anode voltage of the high voltage, wherein the anode corona discharge is induced in the discharge electrode and ozone is generated between the discharge electrode and the earth electrode forming an atmospheric current toward the earth electrode, wherein the high voltage circuit part includes an oscillation part for oscillating with a predetermined frequency by receiving a DC voltage, a voltage raising part for raising a voltage of the oscillation part, and a voltage multiplying part for multiplying and rectifying a voltage output from the voltage raising part to output the high voltage.
