MANUFACTURING METHOD OF GINSENOSIDE RG1 USING GINSENG HAIRY ROOT KGHR-8

PURPOSE: A cell line of ginseng hairy root, which is induced by transfecting root fraction of ginseng with Agrobacterium rhizogenes, produces ginsenoside Rg1 at high production rate and grows up well. CONSTITUTION: Hairy roots are genetically stable and grow up in hormone free medium. Therefore, the hairy roots can be mass-cultured. The ginseng hairy roots KGHR-8 is prepared by the following steps of: suspension culture of Agrobacterium rhizogenes A4 in 2YT medium (16g of tryptone, 10g of yeast extract, 5g of NaCl, and 1L of H2O and pH 7.0) for two days; controlling the optical density to 0.8(cell density 10¬9/mL) at 600 nm; culturing with dried ginseng root fraction for 24 hours; culturing in the 1/2 MS(DUCHEFA, MO222) medium containing 500 mg/L of cefotaxime.
