PURPOSE: An electric dust collector with moving type dust collecting plates which move up and down and transmit vibratory force uniformly is provided which enhances removal efficiency of dust and lengthens the life of the dust collecting plate. CONSTITUTION: A dust collector for removing dust contained in exhaust gas generated in a converter comprises moving type dust collecting plates, wherein the dust collector with a discharge pipe (14) for collecting dust fallen down from the dust collecting plates and exhausting at its lower is divided into a plurality of sectors equipped with a plurality of the collecting plates (60) within inside, a rotation axis (67) operated by a rotation motor (55) is installed in each sector, sensors (63)(64) are installed at the opposite position of the end of the rotation axis, the collecting plates are installed on a take up reel (58) mounted on the rotation axis through a wire rope (59), and the collecting plates move up and down along a dust collecting plate guide (65) connected to a feeder (66).
