PURPOSE: An infrared absorption bolometer is provided to maximize an infrared absorption efficiency of an infrared sense level by minimizing such a phenomenon that an edge of the infrared sense level is bent. CONSTITUTION: An infrared absorption bolometer comprises a detection level(310), a support level(330), and an infrared sense level(380). The infrared sense level(380) senses an infrared thermal energy by a variation of a resistance value, and the detection level(310) detects the resistance value of a resistor element(382) which is comprised in the infrared sense level(380). The support level(330) electrically connects the infrared sense level(380) and the detection level(310). At an edge of the infrared sense level(380) is formed a groove(384) along a circumference.
