PURPOSE: A rotary compressor is provided to rotate a rotary shaft smoothly by supplying oil smoothly to a cylinder and to compress coolant gas efficiently. CONSTITUTION: By the current fed to a coil(121) of a motor(120), a rotor(123) rotates by the electromagnetic force and a rotary shaft(124) is rotated. The pressure of the oil channel is lowered and oil is supplied to a compressing chamber(131) of a cylinder(130) along the oil channel. Herein, friction force of the contact part of the rotary shaft and a roller(127) and one of the roller and the face of the cylinder forming the compressing chamber. The contact part of the roller and the face of the cylinder are sealed by oil. Coolant gas is compressed at high pressure without being leaked. The oil channel is preferably formed in spiral for smooth oil supply.
