PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery monitoring device which solves the problem that a calculated battery residual quantity is largely deviated from a real state because current measurement errors in a suspend operation mode in which current consumption is small is accumulated in a personal computer. SOLUTION: Range switching of current detection is performed to improve current measurement accuracy in a suspend operation mode by such a manner that a range switching means having a current detection resistance changeover switch 8 controlled by a range switching signal generated based on an operation mode switching signal from a PC main body 2 and a sensitivity changeover switch 10 switches current detection resistances 3 and 4 and an attenuator 9 for detecting current fed to the body 2 from a battery 1.
