The tool consists of a housing (12) which can be held in one hand. The housing contains a cylindrical cutter (1) which is rotated by a battery-powered motor (29) operated by pressing on the housing or a safety switch in the form of a ball of a conducting metal.- The proximal end of the cutter has a magnet to hold it in the housing and connect it with the motor, while at the same time allowing it to be withdrawn for cleaning. The tool also incorporates a fork to hold a piece of food still which it is being cut.
