PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively decrease contrast and max. dye amount by controlling the amt. of a DI(A)R coupler relating to the emulsion containing specified % of silver chloride to a specified proportion of the total coupler amt. SOLUTION: The DI(A)R coupler expressed by formula I or II relating to the emulsion containing at least 50% silver chloride is included by about 25 to 90% of the total coupler amt. as the sum of the molar number of image forming coupler relating to the emulsion and the DI(A)R coupler. In formula I and formula II, Z is a group which reacts with an oxidized developer to release a coupling release group, R1 is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom or a group selected from unsubstd. or substd. alkyl or aryl groups, R2 is a substituent and is a halogen atom or group selected from unsubstd. or substd. alkyl or aryl groups, X represents atoms necessary to form an aromatic cyclic group which is a second ring containing at least one nitrogen atom, and TIME is a timing group.
