PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adhesion of dust to an objective lens even during storage or transportation. SOLUTION: An optical pickup comprises an optical pickup body 12, an objective lens 26, a shutter mechanism 30 disposed on the exposed surface side of the objective lens 26 to be opened/closed freely as the optical pickup body moves on the inner circumferential side of a disc, and a mechanism 60 for locking the shutter mechanism 30 to the optical pickup body 12 while closing the objective lens 26. The lock mechanism 60 comprises an engaging protrusion 64 provided on a guide piece 62, and a lock part 66 provided on a shutter piece 32 constituting the shutter mechanism 30. The objective lens 26 is closed by the lock mechanism 60 before an optical pickup is built in the body of an apparatus. The lock mechanism 60 is unlocked when the optical pickup is built in the body of an apparatus. According to the arrangement, adhesion of dust to the objective lens 26 is prevented surely in the stage of storing or transporting the optical pickup. |
