METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING MOTION PICTURES USING ATM API METHOD

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting motion pictures using ATM(Asynchronous Transmission Mode) API(Application Program Interface) method is provided to recover transmitted motion pictures after compressing motion pictures to motion-JPEG files and transmitting compressed motion pictures through a Native ATM API. CONSTITUTION: A method for transmitting motion pictures using ATM API method comprises the following steps. Motion pictures are compressed as motion-JPEG files. One video frame is inserted into a basic transmission format. The basic transmission format is divided into various MTU(Maximum Transmission Unit). The divided MTUs are transmitted to Native ATM. A method for receiving compressed motion pictures comprises the step of: dividing a video frame into a multitude of MTU and synthesizing each MTU to a whole frame; and displaying the synthesized frame on a screen.
