PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a document generated on a screen and a document read by scanning together through easy operation. SOLUTION: A document sensor 22a detects a document, a discrimination part 33 checks whether a document editing flag 32 is turned on or not. If the document editing flag 32 is turned on, edited image data has stored in an edited document storage area 13. The discrimination part 33 checks whether or not both edited image data and the paper document are to be transmitted. If it is discriminated that both of them are to be transmitted, the discrimination part 33 checks whether or not the paper document should be first transmitted. If priority is given to the paper document, it is checked whether or not edited image data are to be inserted to the paper document. If an operator selects 'yes', the paper document is read by a scanner 22 and is transmitted page by page, and read image data are transmitted when it reaches an insertion designated page, and the rest of the paper document is transmitted.
