METHOD FOR ACCESSING TRACK IN CDP

PURPOSE: A method is provided to promptly and precisely tracking access by using deviation between a velocity profile and a present velocity. CONSTITUTION: A maximum feed decelerate curve represents a track count value obtained by maximally decelerating the feed in jumping tracks. In a track jump mode, a feed motor is driven for moving the feed. A switching point is detected by finding a point having the same velocities of a present feed and the maximum feed decelerate curve. The feed is decelerated for a track number error to reach a certain value. Thus, the velocity of the feed follows the maximum feed decelerates curve. A track access is completed by moving a track coil actuator until the track number error becomes zero.
